Ideas for locations
When we remake the video to James Bay - When we were on fire we want to make it as accurate to the lyrics as possible, he talks about fire a lot so we thought it would be a good idea to have a guitar being played around a campfire on a beach. This will be shown similar to a flashback in the video, showing the past that the boy misses what he use to have with his girlfriend as that is what we feel the lyrics suggest. Sitting around the campfire as a group can show that what they had was 'On fire' as he puts it.
Thorndon Park is a good location for us to film because the scenery is a nice place to walk. Suggesting that when we film the girl and the boy can be holding hands with the camera shot behind them. Again this will be a flashback because the majority of the song is about how the boy used to be with the girl and that they are losing what they had, so we could film them walking around the park and the girl slowly fading away.
As a group we said that Southend-on-sea was a very suitable place to film part of our song. The reasoning for this is because it has a lot of good scenery that would fit the genre of the song. The beach is perfect for our video as the guitar can be played with all of our actors sitting around the campfire and then the next shot can be of the waves crashing or slowly coming in. Southend also has arcades along the beach side which will represent how much fun the boy and girls relationship used to be.
This is a picture of a hill over looking fields and landscape in the distance. There is a hill pretty much the same as this at Thorndon Park which we are going to use, playing a guitar on a hill overlooking distant scenery can represent the sadness in the singer. This part of the song will be done as an individual singing, instead of a group shot, to represent the loneliness and sadness of the singer.
This image is from a London train station. We thought of the idea of creating a time lapse video of people walking past one of our characters. This shot would show the fast paced life people live compared to the actors. This would link to the lyrics because of the sadness that he is singing about. And by the character standing still show how he has been affected and cant enjoy his life like everyone else it.
This is a image of Trafalgar Square in London. We wanted to use this location in our music video because this is a very lively place due to the large crowds and different tourist places and objects surrounding that area. It would make a great shot of two characters arguing in the middle with everyone still walking around them and continuing with their daily activities.
